If you want to know more about Paraparaumu...
Paraparaumu is in the Kapiti Coast district on the south-western coast of the lower North Island of New Zealand, about 50 kilometres north of Wellington. The population of the district is just over 50,000 with most people living in the townships of Paekakariki, Raumati, Paraparaumu, Waikanae, and Otaki. The district is named after Kapiti Island (5.6 kilometres (3 miles) offshore), which is a predator-free, easily accessible island nature reserve populated with native birds and wildlife some of which are seldom now seen on the mainland. Besides being the location of the local district government, Paraparaumu hosts Coastlands, the main shopping centre on the Kapiti Coast, and has good public transport to Wellington. The airport provides regular flights to Auckland, Christchurch, and the upper South Island.
Due to the safe beaches and the other outdoor activities available in the area, the Kapiti Coast District is a popular holiday destination.
Near to the Aquatic Centre. See Map above.
